Happy Birthday, Bryce!

Bryce turned 5 on Sept. 21st! He'd already had his party with his buddies, so we had a great day with family. Grandma & Grandpa Crane made a delicious brunch, and we ended the meal with a homemade birthday cake!

We decided that Drew was better off tackling the cake & frosting sans shirt. We made a good call.

After some quiet time in the afternoon, we took Bryce to the small amusement park in Albuquerque. His favorite ride is the Mini Bumper Cars, which he's big enough to drive himself!

The boys had some chocolate pudding for dessert one night last week...Drew decided to fingerpaint with his. He also thought smearing it all over his face was hilarious. Thank goodness we were eating outside!

I love September! Bryce was born in a fantastic month. I guess it's perfect that I have two fall babies, because it's my favorite season. The weather here has been outstanding (low 80's since the beginning of the month) and now we're only a week away from the Balloon Fiesta. It's hard to beat Albuquerque right now. We had a great time on Bryce's birthday last week, thanks so much to everyone who sent him good wishes & gifts. He loves everything! He even got to do some shopping on his own this weekend with some birthday money. It's hard to believe he's 5! We're really glad he's got this one last year of preschool, I'm just not ready for kindergarten yet!

It's been a crazy few weeks for me, job-wise. I was offered (and accepted) a job teaching 8th grade math, but just before my paperwork cleared at the district office, the school district began a hiring freeze. They've apparently applied for some emergency funding, but I won't know any more for a week or so. If it works out, I'll be teaching soon; if not, I'll try again next year.

Here's some great news...only 2 months until my favorite holiday of them all, Thanksgiving! An entire holiday devoted to food & football. You gotta love it! Enjoy the fall weather and changing colors in your neck of the woods! :)
